At Royal Dream we always aim to provide accurate information for our travelers. Unfortunately information such as the price of optional activities is occasionally subject to change, and this means that we are constantly revising our trip notes. In order to ensure that you have the most up to date information for your trip we suggest that you check the trip notes for your tour around one month before departure.
Staffing: Services of representatives and local guides.
Transport: Private air-conditioned transport, 5 star Nile cruise boat, 1st class sleeper train, hydrofoil, horse-drawn carriage, and donkeys, hydrofoil, camel, jeep.
Accommodation: 13 night’s tourist class hotels, 3 nights on board 5 star Nile cruise boat, 1 night 1st class sleeper train, 1 night desert camping on Sinai trek, 1 night Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum.
Activities: Donkey ride to the Valley of the Kings, climb up Mt Sinai, overnight Sinai desert trek, camel ride and jeep safari in Wadi Rum
Meals: As per itinerary (B- Breakfast, L-Lunch, D-Dinner). Breakfast is provided on every day of the tour, Please allow US$10-15 per day for additional meals.
Entrance fees: Included for all sites listed as part of the itinerary. Egypt also has a wealth of other historical sites and museums which you may wish to visit. If you intend visiting a wide range of different sites you should allow up to approx. US$275 for this.
Tipping: To avoid embarrassment and save your money all tours operate a tipping kitty. Please allow US$18 - 27 per week of the tour for this.
Itinerary (19 nights / 20 days)
Day 1: Monday - Cairo
Meet & assist at the airport, and check into your hotel. (No meals)
Day 2: Tuesday - Cairo
Morning guided tour of the Egyptian Museum with the chance to see the famous mummies. This afternoon is free. (B)
Day 3: Wednesday - Cairo - Alex
In the morning we visit the great Pyramids & Sphinx at Giza where we enjoy a guided tour. Later this afternoon we drive to the north coast to the Mediterranean city of Alexandria (B) Approx 3 hrs journey.
Day 4: Thursday - Alexandria
A morning guided tour of the Catacombs, Pompey's Pillar, and Roman Theatre. This afternoon we drive back to Cairo to board the first class sleeper train for a journey to Aswan. (BD) Approx 10 hrs train journey.
Day 5: Friday - Nile Cruise
On arrival to Aswan you will be transferred for check on the 5 star deluxe cruise boat. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the city or take a ride on a felucca (optional). (BLD).
Day 6: Saturday - Nile Cruise
This morning there is an opportunity to take an excursion to Abu Simbel (optional) before we start cruising up the Nile towards Luxor. We stop en route at Kom Ombo where we will visit the riverside temple, before we continue to Edfu. (BLD)
Day 7: Sunday - Nile Cruise
In the morning, we visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu before we continue sailing to Luxor (BLD).
Day 8: Monday - Luxor
We get up before sunrise to ride sturdy donkeys to the Valley of the Kings. Our route back offers magnificent views of the Nile Valley and passes the Colossi of Memnon. The afternoon is free. Overnight at a hotel in Luxor. (B)
Day 9: Tuesday - Luxor
Free morning to explore the city. In the afternoon we get our horse drawn carriages to Karnak for a guided tour. (B)
Day 10: Wednesday - Hurghada
Travel by air-conditioned bus to the Red Sea resort of Hurghada. The rest of the afternoon is free. (B) Approx. 5 hrs driving
Day 11: Thursday - St Catherine
Rise early to board the Hydrofoil from Hurghada to the Sinai, then transfer to St Catherine where we spend the night near the foot of Mt Sinai. Approx 8 hrs in total. (BD)
Day 12: Friday - Sinai Trek
We get up early to climb Mt Sinai in time for sunrise. The views from the top over the Sinai Mountains are absolutely magnificent. Later we will drive to the trek point where we will meet our Bedouin crew and start our trek in the Sinai desert. (BLD)
Day 13: Saturday - Dahab
We will be accompanied by our local Bedouin crew till we meet our bus and transfer to Dahab where we spend the night. (B)
Day 14: Sunday - Dahab
Day at leisure to relax on the beach or snorkel in the Red Sea. (B)
Day 15: Monday - Wadi Rum
Morning transfer to Nuweiba and cross by hydrofoil to Aqaba. Transfer to a Bedouin-style camp. Over night camping. (BD)
Day 16: Tuesday - Petra
This morning we enjoy a camel ride in Wadi Rum, and then later we have the option to take a desert jeep safari through some of the most spectacular areas. Afterwards we continue to the hidden city of Petra. (B)
Day 17: Wednesday - Petra
A full day with a guide to explore the sight. (B)
Day 18: Thursday - Kerak - Madaba - Mt Nebo - Dead Sea - Amman
Crusaders castles, ancient mosaics, panoramic views and a visit to the famous Dead sea. A busy day ends in Amman. (BD)
Day 19: Friday - Amman
We visit the desert castles east of Amman. On our return we visit Amman’s great Roman theatre. (B)
Day 20: Saturday - Amman
Tour ends after breakfast. You will be transferred to the airport for your return
flight. (B)
